Gary Hodgins

Gary Hodgins is the President and CEO of Pharmax Limited. Through his leadership over the past decade, Pharmax has undertaken an innovative approach to global expansion. As Gary explains, “we have developed a strategic business model based on avant-garde research, which has lead to breakthrough technologies”. Gary is passionate about the need for science driving market development in the healthcare sector – perhaps this is the reason why Pharmax is one of the fastest growing small business enterprises in Canada. Gary holds directorships at both The Health Technology Exchange (HTX) and Trillium Medical Technology Association (TMTA), and acts as a technical advisor for the Community and Hospital Infection Control Association (CHICA). Gary has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Physiology and, subsequently, postgraduate training in Nuclear Medicine, as well as an MBA.

Martha Wilson

Martha Wilson is the Quality Control and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Pharmax Limited, where, for the past ten years, she has developed and implemented internal audit programs to ensure all quality system requirements are benchmarked with best practices in the industry. She has successfully prepared and submitted several new product Health Canada registration applications. Prior to this, she was the Manager for Polytechnic Laboratories, which released products in the Canadian marketplace for companies such as National Starch, Billy Bee Honey Products, and Nice-Pak/PDI. Martha has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry.

Shailesh Patel

Shailesh Patel has served as Pharmax Limited’s head of production since 2002. He is instrumental in the formulation of over 20 products, and is the lead agent for new product development. Shailesh is committed to ensure that each product Pharmax manufactures and distributes consistently meets with internationally accepted standards of quality, efficacy, and safety. As he explains, “quality should not only be a function of testing, but should be built into the product from its inception”. Over the years, he has designed and implemented the Pharmax low-cost, high-efficiency production strategy, which is being practiced today. Shailesh has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Organic Chemistry.
